ALCO

Terms of Service

Effective date:

These Terms of Service govern your use of ALCO’s website, interactive maps, analytics, and related services (the “Service”). “ALCO,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account or purchase a subscription. If you use ALCO for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

ALCO uses Google sign-in. Provide accurate account information, protect your Google account and devices, and do not share access in a way that bypasses subscription or security controls. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

2. The Service and access levels

ALCO provides research tools for reported Texas alcohol sales, business locations, license context, trends, and comparisons. ALCO is an independent service, not a government agency, and is not endorsed by the businesses displayed.

Public previews have limited coverage and features. Demo accounts include all customer-facing tools, with data limited to a 5-mile radius around downtown Dallas and excluding the latest 12 reporting months. Paid access depends on the purchased plan and an eligible subscription status and unlocks statewide and recent reporting. Administrative tools require separate authorization. Available coverage and features may change; the Service and checkout describe the applicable offering.

3. Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

Prices, currency, billing frequency, and any applicable taxes or trial terms are disclosed at checkout. Stripe processes subscription payments. By purchasing a recurring plan, you authorize charges at the disclosed monthly or yearly interval until you cancel.

Manage or cancel your subscription through Account settings → Billing and the linked Stripe billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period shown by the billing provider. Signing out, stopping use, or requesting account deletion does not by itself cancel recurring billing; cancel the subscription separately or ask support for help.

Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or where ALCO expressly agrees otherwise. This does not limit mandatory cancellation or refund rights. Contact support about billing errors. Failed payments, expired subscriptions, or payment reversals may restrict paid access.

If recurring pricing changes, we will provide advance notice before the new price applies to your renewal, as required by applicable law, so you can cancel before being charged at the new rate.

4. Permitted and prohibited use

Subject to these terms and your access level, you may use ALCO for personal or internal business research and decision support. You may not resell access, redistribute ALCO’s proprietary datasets or tools as a competing service, or use automated extraction without our permission. These restrictions do not assert ownership of public records or restrict access to those records from their original sources.

Do not bypass geographic, subscription, or account restrictions; access another user’s records; probe or disrupt systems without authorization; introduce malicious code; impersonate others; or use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or discriminatory purposes. Do not remove required attribution or third-party notices.

5. Data accuracy and research limitations

Data comes from public records and other sources and may be delayed, incomplete, revised, incorrectly matched, or incorrectly geocoded. Reported alcohol receipts are not total business revenue, profit, or a guarantee of business performance. Missing reports are not necessarily zero sales. Rankings, heatmaps, operator groupings, and assumed operating statuses are analytical interpretations, not verified facts about ownership, closure, license validity, or future results.

Verify material information with the original source and appropriate professionals before making financial, legal, licensing, real-estate, or operational decisions. ALCO does not provide investment, legal, tax, or other professional advice. Submitting a correction does not guarantee acceptance, a publication date, or a change to an upstream public record.

6. Your submissions and saved content

You retain any rights you have in support messages, correction suggestions, comparison names, and other content you submit. You give ALCO a non-exclusive license to store, process, and use that content as needed to operate the Service, respond to you, investigate issues, and review or publish data corrections. Handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

Only submit content you are entitled to share. Do not include passwords, payment card details, sensitive personal information, or another person’s confidential information in support or correction messages. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of your submissions.

7. Ownership and third-party services

ALCO’s branding, software, interface, and original analytical materials are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the permitted use above, these terms do not transfer ownership or grant rights to our trademarks. Public records and third-party materials remain subject to their own applicable rights and terms.

Google sign-in, Google Maps, Stripe, and linked external websites are third-party services with their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of Google Maps is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service. ALCO does not control third-party availability or content.

8. Availability, suspension, and termination

We may update features, correct data, or temporarily interrupt access for maintenance or security. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend or terminate access for a material violation of these terms, unlawful activity, nonpayment, or a security risk. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

You may stop using ALCO at any time and request account deletion through support. Subscription cancellation remains a separate billing step. Termination does not eliminate amounts already owed or rights and obligations that by their nature survive termination. If we discontinue a paid service, we will address unused prepaid fees as required by law.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not promise a particular business outcome. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer protection that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ALCO is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, business opportunities, or data arising from your use of the Service. ALCO’s total liability for claims arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amounts you paid ALCO during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

11. Changes and disputes

We may revise these terms and will update the effective date when we do. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or another appropriate channel before the changes take effect, except where immediate changes are necessary for legal or security reasons. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Please contact support first so we can try to resolve a concern. Nothing in these terms requires arbitration or waives your right to bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

12. Contact

For questions about these terms, billing, or your account, open the map’s ? help dialog and submit a support request. You can view the request and our responses in the help dialog or Account settings → Requests. Support responses are delivered in-app; submitting a ticket does not currently send an email notification.
