ALCO

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of ALCO (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit our website or use our Texas alcohol sales research tools. It applies to ALCO, not to independently operated third-party services linked from or used by the app.

1. Information we collect

Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, verified email address, display name, and profile picture when available. We store an internal user identifier, account creation and sign-in timestamps, account role, and information needed to manage access. We do not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail, contacts, or Drive files.

Billing information: if you subscribe, Stripe processes payment details. ALCO stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan and price identifiers, subscription status, billing-period information, and related payment event records needed to administer access. Authorized administrators may view payment and refund information through Stripe. ALCO does not store your full payment card number or card security code.

Saved information: we store preferences, guided-preview completion, favorite locations and their order, and saved comparisons, including names, location selections, and saved period choices, when you save or synchronize them to your account.

Messages and corrections: we store support subjects and descriptions, data correction requests, suggested coordinates or license/operator changes, request identifiers, statuses, timestamps, and responses, associated with your account. Include only information needed to explain the issue.

Technical and activity information: we record session creation, expiration, revocation, and recent session-use timestamps. Our servers and service providers may also process IP addresses, browser/request information, and operational or error logs to deliver and protect the Service. Administrative activity metrics use recorded account and session timestamps; they are not a comprehensive history of everything you view.

2. How we use information

We use information to authenticate you; enforce account, demo, and subscription access; process billing; synchronize your saved settings; respond to support; review corrections; maintain data quality; diagnose failures; protect against abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

We use account and subscription summaries to understand operation of the Service. We do not use Google account information for advertising. The current app does not integrate advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics tools.

3. Cookies and browser storage

ALCO uses an essential sign-in-flow cookie that expires after approximately 10 minutes and a session cookie that lasts up to 30 days unless revoked or cleared. These cookies support authentication and security; they are not advertising cookies. Disabling them prevents sign-in and authenticated features from working.

The app uses IndexedDB, a form of browser-local storage, to cache authorized map datasets for performance. Cached records are scoped to the account/access context and dataset version. Clearing site data in your browser removes local storage but does not delete your server-side account, saved settings, or subscription.

Third-party services such as Google Maps and Stripe may use their own cookies or similar technologies under their respective policies. ALCO’s statements about its own essential cookies do not describe every technology used by those providers.

4. When information is shared

Service providers: information is processed by providers supporting hosting, database storage, authentication, payments, and maps, as needed to deliver those services. Google handles sign-in; Stripe receives account/billing information to manage checkout and subscriptions. When your browser loads Google Maps or your Google profile image, it connects to Google, which receives network information such as your IP address and request details. Map interactions can also be processed by Google under its policies.

Authorized administrators can access account information, saved support/correction records, activity summaries, and relevant billing information to operate and support ALCO. Other customers are not given access to your account preferences or private support tickets. Approved corrections may update business/location information displayed in the map.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or lawful process, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or security issues, or carry out a merger, acquisition, or business transfer, subject to applicable safeguards and notice requirements.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Public business records and location information

The map displays business names, addresses, coordinates, reported alcohol receipts, operator names, and license information obtained from public records and related data sources. Some records may identify individuals, sole proprietors, or home-based business addresses. Public availability does not mean those records are always accurate or current.

The app does not request your device’s precise GPS location. A suggested map pin in a correction request identifies the business location you propose, not necessarily your location. Use the location viewer’s report control to flag incorrect records. Correcting ALCO does not change records maintained by a government agency; contact the original source separately when appropriate.

6. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, manage your account and subscriptions, resolve support or data-quality issues, maintain security and audit records, and meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Retention depends on the record and purpose; a session cookie’s expiry does not automatically erase related database records.

When information is no longer needed, we will delete or de-identify it, subject to applicable obligations and backup lifecycles. Account deletion may not remove public business records, already published factual corrections, or records we must retain for lawful purposes.

We use safeguards including server-side authorization, restricted administrative access, and secure session handling. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your account and avoid including secrets or sensitive information in messages.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You can change saved preferences and remove favorites or comparisons through Account settings. Manage subscriptions separately in Billing; deleting browser data or requesting account deletion does not automatically stop recurring charges.

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to access or obtain a copy of personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or appeal a denied request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

To make a request, use the in-app support form and identify it as a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the scope before responding, and legal exceptions may apply. If we deny a request, you may submit an appeal through the same support channel. Do not include identity documents or sensitive information unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure process.

ALCO does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so it does not perform that processing when it receives a Global Privacy Control signal. Browser controls can also block cookies or clear site data, with the feature limitations described above.

8. International users and children

ALCO focuses on Texas business data, but information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements continue to apply.

ALCO accounts and subscriptions are intended for adults aged 18 or older, and the Service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Third-party policies

Google and Stripe independently describe how they process information through their services. Review Google’s Privacy Policy, the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and Stripe’s Privacy Policy using the links below. External websites and source-data portals are responsible for their own privacy practices.

10. Changes and contact

We will update the effective date when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or another appropriate channel as required by law.

For privacy questions or requests, open the map’s ? help dialog and submit a support request with “Privacy request” in the subject. View responses in the help dialog or Account settings → Requests. Support currently operates in-app and does not send email notifications.
